Sourced from the sleepy hollow of Briagalong in Victoria, The Gippslander is a slim, proud one-piece characterised by four elongated gum veins at its base and at its far left edge. Fiddleback markings and a cheeky black wink on its neck, this piece doesn't go home with just anyone. Taller than most at 3500mm with an expansiveness of 870 mm, it has been seasoned over 85 years. Weighing a hefty 190 kilograms, its 55mm thick edges abundant with character means there's more to this slab than meets its seemingly plain exterior.

Unlike many other infant timber suppliers, Ancient Timber Slabs by Nullarbor offer you the advantage of purchasing a product that has been seasoned by time. Our slabs are dried and cured in their most natural state with 10% or less moisture content. You will not find a bigger collection of slabs on the planet in which the drying process is native to the product itself and its best end use.

With a huge range of different species available , we find many of the red gum slabs have been milled from ringbarked trees during colonial days. The benefits of such rare timbers provide unique colours and characteristics such as size which just can't be reproduced from today's plantation timbers.
