  • RIVER REDGUM - 3350 x 1400 mm x 55mm - 320 kilograms

Call off the hunt, because here it is. A 320 kilo monstrosity with weather marks like no other, you'd be wise to step aside when the Grand Dame D.C. strolls in.  This red gum antiquity has been around the block a few times. Look at this fellow, it practically wears a crown.  A statuesque 3500 mm in height and 1600 mm in width, this grandiose testament to time itself was rescued from the burning pile in Narrandera in Southern, NSW after 130 years asleep in dawn's shadows. Sliced out of obscurity by man made machinery, the natural goodness of this modest monster reveals itself evermore with each and every investigation. Extraordinary fiddleback features scattered around its torso, dark grains and gum veins bracketing the beauty within, The Grand Dame D.C. is a lyrical revelation, devoid of ornate niceties and abundant with impolite truths. It is what it is. Mother Nature's bountiful biscuit; even its rough, natural edges make you think twice. Be first hand witness to its revelatory, home spun vignettes as you give this dame a resting place in your office, foyer, studio or dining room. There is only one of these in existence and due to its rarity, its weight, its oft overlooked base integrity and its ability to listen before it speaks, we've priced it for the kind of buyer who appreciates what others might not. You'II never forget a thing this grand dame tells you in its feathered features. It will stay with you for life and have a ricochet effect upon each and every contemplation. Like it's namesake, D.C., it is a thinker, an augur, averse to defeat and pursuant of both common sense and common courtesy. It is  a teller of tales, a keeper of secrets and a loyal co-conspirator en route infamy.

 ADVANTAGES

Reclaimed timber is not only environmentally friendly. Some of the timber logs in our yard date back over 1000 years and have been collected nationwide.

Such logs have stood the test of time through harsh weather conditions and possess incredulous durability and strength.

 It is Ancient Timber Slabs by Nullarbor's mission to ensure that these magnificent timbers are not in any way wasted, discarded or devalued. Rather, through our unique drying and milling process, we ensure every piece is value added to its maximum potential.

Unlike many other infant timber suppliers, Ancient Timber Slabs by Nullarbor offer you the advantage of purchasing a product that has been seasoned by time. Our slabs are dried and cured in their most natural state with 10% or less moisture content. You will not find a bigger collection of slabs on the planet in which the drying process is native to the product itself and its best end use.

With a huge range of different species available , we find many of the red gum slabs have been milled from ringbarked trees during colonial days. The benefits of such rare timbers provide unique colours and characteristics such as size which just can't be reproduced from today's plantation timbers.

ENVIRONMENTAL POLICY

{ Timber Slab Salvage }
Our log timbers are acquired from diverse sources Australia wide and have been harvested for reasons other than raw timber demand. They range from domestic tree felling, farmland clearing, bush fire affected and fire break land clearing. These timbers make up a huge portion of our current stock pile that without demand may have found their way to a wood chipper, land fill, landscaping or even fire wood. Permits and regulation are generally required for these timbers to be removed.

{ Renewable Projects }
Ancient Timber Slabs by Nullarbor is committed to making substantial annual donations to community groups for the planting of replacement trees.
